ContactRelief recommends suspending contact with Puerto Rico.

ContactRelief recommends suspending contact with the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Hurricane Warnings were issued by the National Hurricane Center on Monday, September 18th for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Hurricane Maria intensified into a Category 5 storm with maximum sustained winds of 160 MPH. The National Hurricane Center said that Hurricane Maria is a "potentially catestrophic hurricane" that will move near or over the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico later Tuesday and into Wednesday.

The forecasted track of Hurricane Maria is shown as it moves towards the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Hurricane Maria Forecasted Track

Both Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands were already devasted by the passage of Hurricane Irma less than two weeks prior. ContactRelief maintains an active contact suspension for both Puerto Rico and the U.S.Virgin Islands. We are making this duplicate contact suspension recommendation because if Hurricane Maria does strike either region, the time for recovery will be further extended.
