Quickly formed Tropical Storm Imelda makes landfall in Freeport, Texas

Imelda is expected to bring heavy rainfall and flash flooding inland.

A tropical disturbance off the Texas coast quickly strengthened into a tropical storm on Tuesday.  Tropical Storm Imelda then made landfall at Freeport, Texas at 1 PM CDT with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.  Heavy rainfall and flash flooding is expected inland.
